Visit Oakland

BarCom played a pivotal role in securing the renewal of the Oakland Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID), working closely with Visit Oakland to rally hotel partners, engage city leaders, and build support for the initiative.
In 2024, the Oakland City Council unanimously approved the renewed TBID, unlocking up to $3 million in funding to boost marketing and attract visitors—ultimately supporting local businesses, restaurants, and cultural destinations citywide.

Northeastern University Oakland-Strategic Communications, Community Relations; Stakeholder Engagement; Media Relations

BarCom helped Northeastern University Oakland strengthen its community presence by facilitating key conversations between the university and local stakeholders. We leveraged our diverse network to open strategic doors, connecting students to co-op
and career opportunities with companies like Meta, Intuit, and AMD. BarCom also organized a press conference announcing a major new partnership with OUSD, featuring a full-ride scholarship for local students—resulting in media coverage and attendance from top elected officials.

Ronald McDonald House Bay Area Charities- Stakeholder Engagement; Government Affairs; Media Relations; Launches

BarCom supported Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area (RMHC Bay Area) with strategic community introductions and relationship-building in the months leading up to the launch of their new Oakland location. Months later, BarCom organized a highly

successful press conference featuring city leaders, elected officials, and comprehensive Bay Area TV and radio media coverage—including Spanish-speaking outlets. This well-coordinated event served as a major kickoff for Ronald McDonald House Oakland, generating strong community awareness and enthusiasm for the new house.

Malta Clinic- Media Relations; Launches, Government Affairs

The Order of Malta Clinic of Northern California in Oakland celebrated a major expansion, doubling its capacity to serve uninsured and underinsured patients. BarCom organized the press event and ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by the local City Councilmember

 and drew strong turnout from local media, including Spanish-language outlets. The expansion added exam rooms and services, strengthening the clinic’s mission to provide free, quality care. The event marked a new chapter in its commitment to accessible healthcare.

Kingmakers of Oakland - Media Relations

BarCom partnered with Kingmakers of Oakland to elevate the visibility of their annual student showcase, celebrating the powerful work of youth leaders. Collaborating closely with the Executive Director, BarCom secured four TV interviews and leveraged
free community billboards, significantly boosting positive awareness and engagement across the region.
